Ann Childress - Pottery
Ann studied clay and fiber at Florida State University and the University of Tennessee. In her formal career, she worked for the National Park Service for more than 30 years, alternating work assignments between the Appalachian mountains and the Atlantic coast. Now retired, she enjoys creating utilitarian pottery that functions as fine art for daily use. The beauty of the natural world influences many of the design elements in her work. In addition to working in her Hillsville, VA studio, she also teaches pottery classes in Galax at Chestnut Creek School of the Arts.
